Personal — Myriam J. Altman was born in 1939. She began service as a Justice for the Appellate Division, Second Department in 1994. She was appointed by Governor Mario M. Cuomo.
Judicial Positions — Prior to serving on the Appellate Division, the Honorable Myriam J. Altman was a Supreme Court Justice, elected in 1987. She presided over one of four new specialized commercial parts in New York County in 1993. She was a Judge of the Civil Court of the City of New York from 1978 to 1987 and Acting Justice of the Supreme Court from 1979 to 1987.
Education — She received her JD from New York University School of Law in 1963. She graduated from Barnard College in 1959 with a BA.
