Personal — Thomas A. Adams was born in 1948.  He began service for the Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department in 2001, appointed by Governor George E. Pataki.  Justice Adams is a Republican.    

Judicial — Prior to his service with the Appellate Division, the Honorable Thomas A. Adams was a Justice of the New York Supreme Court, Tenth Judicial District, from 1993 to 2001.  He was a Nassau County District Court Judge from 1988 to 1992. 

Clerkships — Thomas A. Adams was a Law Secretary to Nassau County Court Judge Marvin I. Goodmam from 1981 to 1987. 

Government — Before he started his judicial career, Justice Adams was an Assistant District Attorney in Nassau County from 1973 to 1980.

Education —  Justice Adams received his law degree from New England School of Law in 1973 and graduated from Elizabethtown College with a BA in 1970.
